Under the DBDM, the Regional Integration Coordination Office (RDRI) was established within the Regional Development, Integration and Business Delivery Complex (RDVP) with the aim of providing strategic direction for the Integrate Africa work streams at the regional level while focusing on implementation at the sub-regional and national level through Regional and Country Strategy Papers to enable Regional Member Countries to realize enhanced outcomes.
The role for regional integration cuts across several departments in the Bank, particularly those responsible for transport infrastructure; power and energy; ICT; trade, industry, and investment climate; and agriculture. To ensure a coordinated one-bank approach to Regional Integration, the Regional Integration Coordination Office (RDRI) has the overall responsibility for the design and monitoring of corporate level strategies to foster regional integration such as the RISF. RDRI also spearheads the mainstreaming of regional integration in Bank processes and operations on the ground in the Bank’s regional offices in East, West, North, Southern and Central Africa. RDRI also collaborates with relevant Bank units in spearheading dialogue with the African Union, the Regional Economic Communities, and relevant partners in Africa and globally on regional integration and trade issues.
The objective of this consultancy is to support the RDRI Front office, the Regional Integration Coordinator (RICs) and The African Development Fund (ADF)-Regional Operations Envelope (ROE) Secretariat in maintaining quality assurance and timely delivery of the RDRI work program, as well as to provide support in the areas of research and analysis regarding the Bank’s regional integration strategy and action plan, led by the RDRI Department
