The AfDB is supporting RMCs in the establishment of Youth Entrepreneurship Investment Banks (YEIB) to address market failures and fragmentation in the provision of financial and non-financial services for youth entrepreneurs. YEIBs are national anchor institutions that will coordinate the delivery of financial and non-financial services in a systemic, scalable and sustainable manner. YEIBs will invest in and support youth entrepreneurship ecosystem services through multi-stakeholder partnerships to enable young people to start, improve and grow businesses, while creating jobs. The Bank, through the Financial Intermediation and Financial Inclusion Division (PIFD.1), is in the process of operationalizing four already approved YEIBs in Nigeria, Liberia, Cote d’Ivoire and Ethiopia. Additionally, PIFD.1 supports the design and delivery of other public sector projects (Sovereign Operations or SOs) aimed at expanding and deepening financial inclusion.
The AfDB, through PIFD.1, is therefore seeking the services of an individual consultant to provide strategic and technical support in the monitoring and management of the four YEIBs (Liberia, Nigeria, Cote D’Ivoire and Ethiopia) and other SOs.
