The consultants will work under the direct supervision of the Chief Agricultural Technologies Officer, the TAAT Coordinator, with overall oversight from AHAI.2 Division Manager, the Director, AHAI, and regional sector managers.
Working within AHAI’s ecosystem the consultant will perform the following tasks:
Support the TAAT Program and technical stakeholder teams
Support the TAAT Program and technical stakeholder teams in promoting and expanding access to climate-resilient agricultural technologies, particularly improved maize, soybean, cassava, and pasture seeds.
Identify infrastructure investments needed to scale feed, cereal, and milk production, strengthen quality systems, and accelerate the adoption of improved seeds and sustainable agricultural practices.
Collaborate with international and national research institutions, including CGIAR centers, regional research systems, NARES, and private-sector actors, to increase the availability and uptake of improved seeds.
Identify and engage consulting firms and technical experts with experience in technology transfer, agribusiness development, and food raw-material production in Africa.
Prepare annual and quarterly progress reports for participating governments and the Bank on the scaling of climate-resilient crop, livestock, and milk technologies.
Compile and quality-assure key project documents and knowledge products, including consultant reports, presentations, investment guides, and promotional materials.
Support resource mobilization for TAAT initiatives
Through the preparation of concept notes and funding proposals for development partners and financing windows.
Launch knowledge-transfer pilots in maize, soybean, pasture, and milk production, and support the development of TAAT Maize, Soybean, and Livestock Compacts to promote climate-resilient technologies, irrigation solutions, and future investment opportunities across Sub-Saharan Africa.
